Per Alachua County Ordinance 99-20, animals are not permitted to roam free without a leash. Additionally, the ordinance requires that owners of all pets pick up their animal's waste from property other than their own (including private property, roadways, public areas, etc.). Violators can be issued a citation and required to pay a civil penalty by Alachua County Animal Services. To report violations, contact Animal Services at the number above.

  • Grass clippings and leaves must be bagged (40 lb. limit)

 

  • Limbs must be bundled and must not exceed 5 feet in length
